The shocking news of a solider being murdered in Woolwich on Wednesday 22nd May sent the same shock waves in the UK Ahmadiyya Muslim Community as it did across the nation. The attack in Woolwich appears to be driven by extremism and radicalism.
One of the cornerstones in the calendar for the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community over the last ten years has been the introduction of the Annual Peace Symposium held at Baitul Futuh Mosque each March.
The oldest mosque in London, which dates back to 1924, was also served as a bomb shelter in the second world war, providing shelter to local residence. It’s fitting that this mosque would be the place where Ahmadi Muslim Youth, once again , launch their 2012 Poppy Appeal.
